The interview process took about 3.5 weeks. I had clear communication with the "recruiter" at Chemonics. They were very professional and kept me informed with every step of the process. Every staff member was friendly, welcoming, and made it very comfortable to ask questions. They were very flexible with scheduling interview meetings regarding day/time. Communication via email was clear, succinct, and always upbeat.
The first step was a phone screening to briefly introduce yourself and learn more about Chemonics (30 minutes). * Know about the organization because you might be asked to describe what you think they do.
Second step: 1-hour panel interview with members of your potential department. These were situation-based questions. If this situation, what would you do? Typical introduce yourself. I went more in-depth with the work/job skills that applied to the role and my overall experience working on similar projects that fit the unit's overarching thematic theme, goals, and mission.
Third step: 30-minute meeting with a higher-level supervisor. The questions asked were focused on finding out if my personality and intern management with colleagues would be a good fit.
I would prepare questions by looking at Chemonics' social media and looking at your specific unit's current work. Develop questions about funders, culture, current projects, when the grant period ends, and what new business looks like. Really learn about the different pieces that make up that unit.
