I applied online, received update in 2 days and recruiter called me , explained about the role, company and then, discussed about my interests, my current role and responsibilities. then recruiter sent me 10 min HackerRank Javascript quiz(10 questions in 15 mins). recruiter expected me to complete it 2-3 days. but I did immediately, asked for update. recruiter surprised with my quick completion of quiz, gave me update that i passed the test. then in the following week, scheduled for 1 hr technical interview. 1hr Technical interview was with one of the team members. Started with general discussion about my current role and responsibilities, I clearly explained. then, engineer told me about work, team and company. Engineer gave me an easy question to create SpringCleaning System with two piles. 1. keep 2. throwaway and methods to add, remove, display all items in piles. I really enjoyed solving this problem. I felt like realistic problem and started preparation for my next rounds of interview. After 1 week, Recruiter called and said, engineer gave me negative feedback. Recruiter was so transparent that shared me what feedback engineer gave on me. recruiter said engineer helped me during the interview. the FACT is engineer did not help me during the interview. I asked questions to get clarifications to solve the problem. Interview should be always about two way , not one way. Any machine can solve without asking any question. I am not a machine. engineer needed a machine. Second, recruiter told me that engineer did not understand my current role and responsibilities. I asked my recruiter same question that did you get my current role and responsibilities from our initial talk. she said yes. then how come this engineer did not get the same. This is intentional rejection. Also, This is all about tech interview. why the hell this question makes big difference? After the interview, engineer infact told me that I did excellent. How can you expect a negative feedback after that?. I am sure engineer is just saving his job, not doing any work. For chewy, please do not have such kind of people at work place. It will create toxic culture. I felt this deliberate rejection. At the end, Chewy missed a great Software Engineer like me.
