I applied for a stretch role listed under Bellevue, WA and an interview was quickly set up with a recruiter. I was excited for the opportunity and spent time preparing for the interview. Immediately when I logged in, I was told that I am in no way qualified for the role I applied for and any roles that I could be qualified for do not work out of the Seattle office and would require relocation to Boston or Florida. Additionally, this recruiter said that the roles that fit the scope of my experience would not fall under her purview. The entire 5 minute call was demoralizing and felt like a waste of time. The recruiter seemed impatient and didn't even give me a chance to explain my experience. I was made to feel I was wasting her time. I've never experienced something so rude and dismissive in my job search. Hopefully this isn't how people are normally treated and wonder why this call was set up at all.
