I applied online and got an email inviting me to an interview the following week. It was a group interview of around 10 people, scheduled in the restaurant before it opened. I arrived five minutes early. A few people arrived late but the interviewer did not know because they were 30 minutes late themselves (they had been in the back of the restaurant). When they finally showed up, they had us sit around a couple of tables and the interviewer (the apprentice) stood off to the side. He asked for our names and then asked some general questions, like what we knew about Chipotle, why we wanted to work there, what food with integrity meant to us, and then what our previous work experience was. Since he did not go around and ask us individually, the people who were closest to him dominated the conversation. It became a bit of a shouting match with people interrupting and talking over each other, trying to be in first place, not only talking over each other but also trying to talk over the banging of the metal pans going on directly behind us. That's fine, but to me that does not show two of their 13 characteristics, being polite and respectful. Well, you could tell who was getting a call back because the interviewer asked for their names again at the end of the interview, and it was the loudest people of the group. So, if you want a job here my advice would be to not just study up on Chipotle but be the most dominating person at the interview even if it makes you uncomfortable to interrupt people.
