I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Chipotle in Apr 2014
Interview
I think I probably have the strangest interview process I've ever seen, even within this site. I applied in January when a new store was opening in March and while I was first denied, I was later emailed about open interviews which were group interviews. This was around late April. Where I live, it's rather small and everyone is looking for a job so a lot of people were there. I never heard back after those group interviews. I kept calling them though and asking when they would get back to everyone and they kept saying next week. After two weeks, I went in person and was offered a second interview by one of the assistant managers and while the interview went well, they said they were 4 people overstaffed and yet still looking to hire. It made no sense? He told me he would get back to me for a third interview with the actual manager the next day but never did. After going in person two times, week after week and hearing him tell me that he would get back to me soon, I gave up. Apparently no one from the extremely large group interviews was ever offered a second interview yet alone a job. I really wanted to work at Chipotle but I don't think it's fair that I have to keep calling and coming in and never hearing back. At some point I want to know whether they truly want to hire me or not.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Really no difficult questions. They want people to say that they're willing to move up in the company, stick with them, and eventually become restaurateurs. Look through their videos and do the research on the company. You'll impress them if you know the 13 characteristics they look for in an employee and the restaurants motto, "food with integrity". They'll ask you what you know about the company and if you can work in a busy environment and get along with people.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (West Hartford, CT) in May 2026
Interview
I scheduled an interview, but when I arrived the first time the manager was not there, so I had to reschedule. At the second interview, I waited about 10–15 minutes before the manager was ready. The interview itself was short, around 10 minutes, and mostly consisted of behavioral questions read from a sheet. Overall, the process felt disorganized and not very personal, but the questions were straightforward.
