I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (Cambridge, MA) in Feb 2015
Interview
Applied online and got an email asking to come in for an interview in a couple days. The interview was me and one other applicant with the apprentice manager. It was short, maybe 15 minutes, and was pretty much just a "tell me about yourself" and asking what we knew about the company, and giving us a little overview of what working there would entail.
After a couple more days I got another email asking if I could come in the next day and I met with some of the crew members who asked me a couple of questions and then a one on one with the GM. Everyone was really nice and we got along, which seems to be the really important thing here. (They damn well didn't pick me for my (nonexistent) experience!) I got a call later that day with a job offer.
They offered me $9.50 to start.
Easy, straight forward questions. Started as a group interview and ended up being offered the job along with 2 other people. It was very casual and no pressure. Interviewer was friendly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain a time when you handled an upset customer?
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
