I Applied vie Linkedin and the hiring manager in Belfast contacted me over the phone. She was worried about my age (54) but at the end I had been told a face to face interview will be arranged shortly with her and one engineer. To be honest and since they were reluctant to follow up due to my age I was not expecting any further contact, but after 3 weeks, on Monday morning, she contacted me via email, apologised for the delay and requested for my availability during that week. I replied almost immediately that I was available the whole week but Wednesday. Since then I have not had any further update. I sent another email but nothing. I would say a bad experience since at least a brief email explaining that they will not proceed further with my application or some explanation it would had been nice. But apparently, according to another reviews, mistreatment and disrespect are Ciena values when it comes to the hiring process.
