      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cleveland Clinic in Oct 2020

      Interview

This is a review for the Clinical Project Manager position at Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. This position was posted 09/03/20 and I applied on 09/06/20. 3 weeks later the recruiter reached out to me asking to set up an interview time and confirm I was willing to relocate. The recruiter was very honest and mentioned how excited the managers were to interview me. He also told me that relocation fee potentially was not available but if the group wanted me that could possibly be arraigned and that will be based on pre-approved mileage. The salary range was not what I saw online so I had to make sure I could live comfortably based on it. The recruiter did say I can take the weekend to decide on whether I wanted to move forward or not but by that point the hiring manager reached out to me to set up a follow up interview. My interview with the hiring manager and lead supervisor/administrator of the team was set up a couple days after my conversation with the recruiter. It was through video (Microsoft Teams) and they took notes while I answered questions. It was about a set of 12 questions she had with a "curveball" question at the end. Based on the interview, if you wanted professional growth or to go to school while working, this would not be the position for you. And even though the title is manager, you will be doing administrative assistant tasks as well. It is a 40 hours full time position with demanding workload that needs a commitment of 3 years. I am glad that I was contacted prior to deciding if the salary was worth the move as it solidified that this position was not the position I had in mind to utilize to grow. 3 weeks later I received an email that I was not chosen for the position. The interview process was fairly quickly and took about a month or two from application to final decision.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mixture of situational, behavioral, and nonsense (purpose is to get you past your pre-programmed answers to find out if you are capable of an original thought; used to see how you think on your feet) questions. Questions: 1.) If you went on a vacation or conference and you had no access to your workstation, how do you handle the backlog and catch up on work missed? 2.) What is the key to ensure your institution is compliant with laws, regulations, and standard SOPs? 3.) Provide an example of when you set an expectation of others and how did they rise or fall to those expectations? 4.) What is the key to have a program run on budget? 5.) Where do you see yourself in 4-5 years? 6.) What is your favorite Disney fairytale and why? (Nonsense question)
