It was a long process with many steps, including spending a significant amount of time working on a sample exercise. In the end, the work on the sample exercise didn't seem to matter that much, but more importantly during the presentation of that exercise, a couple of the executives on the call I could see were not paying attention and doing other things. There were also two no-shows and no real apology or explanation for why. In the end, it took a lot of time only to find out that I didn't have a key piece of experience they were looking for, so it was pretty much a wasted effort, and I didn't feel like they were being 100% honest with me. Also, when they chose not to make me an offer, even though I made it through hours of interviews not including time spent on the challenge, I didn't hear from the hiring manager, I got a one-liner from the recruiter: "Thank you so much for your time and energy interviewing with us last week. Unfortunately, we will not be moving forward with an offer at this time." I replied to that to say that I found that cold, and only then did I hear from the hiring manager.
