      SEO Manager Interview

      Jul 8, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ClickUp in Jul 2020

      Interview

A recruiter contacted me and I said sure. The place looked interesting. Little did I know I would have to take a typing test. I have been doing SEO for over 8 years. I have applied to dozens of places. I have worked at 5 different agencies. Never once have I been required to take a typing test. I have no idea what typing 80 words a minute has to do with SEO. Frankly if an SEO person is needing to type 80 words a minute all day, then they clearly aren't doing SEO work. I don't think this company knows what to look for in hiring SEO. But forcing them to a typing test instead of asking them something about Google or rankings is extremely antiquated. I am glad I was not given an offer and honestly probably wouldn't have taken one. It is a real deal breaker for me when a tech company acting like it's modern implements old fashion skill tests.
