      Interview

The first step was a written assessment. Next was an interview with a hiring manager, and then yet another written assessment. After completing the second assessment, I was ghosted. No follow up whatsoever.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Clipboard in Sep 2022

      Interview

It was fine at first until it wasn't. I don't understand what changed and what happened. I applied for a different position initially but was then recommended to apply for this position instead. My application was funneled through, and I was moved on to the final phases. My first interview was odd. This was the interview before I was suggested to apply for their new position. I was basically asked to entertain him as I was the last candidate of the day and he was, I suppose, bored. I had to turn up the charisma and talk odd things about myself as he in turn questioned why I even applied for the position with my, according to him, odd credentials. It made me feel silly. I did not know career paths had to be linear and stay that way. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the opportunity as I was trying to change into an entirely different career field, but looking back now, I see that it was all a ruse. Second interview was probably my favorite as it was with the person I was supposed to be working under and he was great to talk to. It was a hopeful interview and it left me feeling excited about the position and I got the email a few days later to start the assessment. This is where it goes downhill. Trust the other reviews about the assessment because I wish I did as well. I spent the whole weekend writing this. I was told to turn it as soon as possible with no deadline, so I sacrificed a whole weekend to get this done right and understand what I was doing as it was a little beyond my scope with what I currently do for work. I had it thrown to friends and family in the field and proofread to be checked for errors and understandability. I was told my final interview was to present this to the department head. I turned it in and a week later I scheduled that final interview. This final interview left a bad feeling in my stomach. He sounded like he was done with me the moment we started talking. I didn't even get to present my assessment at all. We talked nothing of it. Previous interviews are recorded, and I asked if he had seen them so that I didn't repeat myself, but he said he hadn't. I asked if read my assessment and he said he hadn't. He told me of next steps and said that he and the other two mean I spoke with will come together and discuss me and my assessment and get back to me. I guess I failed somewhere there. One thing I appreciate was that he gave me a timeline of when I would hear back and I did hear back within that time frame, more or less. I did not get the position and when I emailed back for feedback, I did not receive any. I will edit this, if possible, if I do, but for now this is where it stands. Edit: I received feedback that seemed generic and did not explain well why I did not move forward, but I do appreciate the response, so thank you. Overall, the first 2/3 were fine until everything got thrown into a mess at the end. It was truly disappointing in the end, though. Not just for all the work and time that not only I as well as the others put into this, but for the fact that it became very disorganized in the end. It's hard trying to break out into tech as a woman. It's even harder trying to appeal to three men in positions of power to convince them of your worth to their company too.
