      Interview

There wasn't really one. I was sent a case study without even being phone screened. The questions in the case study were extremely unrealistic, but I spent hours on it nonetheless, submitted it and never heard a peep. There are many reports of them harvesting "free labor" using this unethical technique. There is a subreddit with hundreds of posts of others like me that isn't hard to find. Avoid at all costs!

      Interview

They have a short phone screen which involved some strange questions (assuming to assess critical thinking) but not normally asked anywhere else. Then a case study that if you take seriously, takes many hours, to then get an immediate rejection. I applied months ago, got an immediate rejection and was messaged by an internal recruiter directly recently for the same position, to also get immediately rejected.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Clipboard (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2025

      Interview

I was screened by their in-house recruiter and then given a "Case Exercise" to perform. They linked me to a post explaining that it was a sample of problems they had already solved, and was specifically not looking for free work. However, upon reviewing their case, it highlighted spam problems due to misconfigured SPF records that have not been resolved to this day. They then declined to move forward, having gotten their free work. First and last time I do work samples, how unethical! Avoid!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Recruiter's screen was pretty surface-level, asking about experience. The case study was a set of 'example' tickets and a Q3 roadmap that highlighted real problems that can be seen externally, leading me to question how much they were fake examples versus real tickets. Tickets demonstrated an extremely hostile attitude from IT towards staff which would result in a pretty damaged relationship between the department and those it supports.
