      Front Desk Coordinator (Receptionist) Interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cloudflare (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

I’ll call my interviewer “A”, was the lead interviewer in this process, and had me come in to meet with two other people, after a phone interview. One person was higher up in Ops, while another was someone I would be working with, also in Ops. In the in-person interview, I mentioned to “A” that I spent time in a local theater venue and he mentioned that he knows some of the people who run that venue. This was outside of our specific interview time, and it seemed happenstance that we knew the same person there. “A” then proceeded to reach out to our mutual friend, who was NOT listed as one of my references and is neither someone I have worked with directly nor can comment on my work. ”A” did this on his own, and I had to receive an awkward message from my friend saying “A” reached out to him and asked him about working with me. This is extremely unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable. It had no correlation to the job I was applying for. I interviewed September 19th 2016, then received a notice for an in-person interview on the 26th, followed by two weeks of silence where I sent an extra follow up email on Oct 20th. I was also recommended by a current employee of Cloudflare at the time.

      Question 1

Could I stay after work every once in a while to facilitate events in the space? Am I able to juggle multiple demands and be the front-facing person for the company?
