      Account Executive Interview

I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Cloudflare (London, England) in Jul 2024

      Interview

Cloudflare Application Review My experience applying to Cloudflare was one of the worst I've ever encountered. Here's a breakdown of the key issues: Lengthy and Overcomplicated Process: The hiring process took an astonishing 3 months, involving 7 to 9 interviews. This is far beyond what should be considered reasonable, especially for a standard application. Lack of Communication: The HR team was incredibly irresponsible throughout. There were periods where I received no updates for up to 2 weeks, leaving me in the dark about the next steps or whether I had even progressed in the process. Disorganized and Inefficient: At the end of this exhausting ordeal, I was informed that I was not selected. While this in itself is acceptable, the reason they gave me was something clearly presented on my resume and discussed in my very first interview. It felt like a complete waste of time, as this could have been addressed right from the beginning. Impersonal and Frivolous Response: The rejection was delivered in a very impersonal and almost dismissive manner. The communication felt cold and unprofessional after such a long and strenuous process. Negative Company Culture: After my experience, I researched employee reviews of Cloudflare and was not surprised to find hundreds of negative testimonials. These reviews highlight the near inhumane treatment of staff, which reflects my own experience during the application process. Discrepancy Between Leadership and Reality: The way the company is presented by its CEO and COO does not align at all with the experiences shared by applicants and employees alike. The stark contrast is alarming. Final Thoughts: If you value your dignity and professionalism, I highly recommend staying far away from this company. My experience was disagreeable, disorganized, and ultimately a complete waste of time.

      Application

      I interviewed at Cloudflare

      Interview

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The interview process itself was straightforward. The hiring manager conducts the first call before you even speak with a recruiter. From there, you either move on to the four-part interview series or get cut. The process includes a mock role play, a diversity and inclusion interview, a discussion with a systems engineer, and a peer interview with a current account executive. The mock call requires you to identify a customer’s problem and recommend the appropriate Cloudflare solution. After that, it’s a simple yes or no decision. I received a job offer, resigned from my previous role, and then Cloudflare rescinded the offer without providing any explanation. I’m not even sure if this is legal. In hindsight, I should have seen the red flags, especially after the viral video of an account executive being laid off. This entire experience reinforced how problematic this company truly is.

      Account Executive Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Cincinnati, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cloudflare (Cincinnati, OH) in Mar 2025

      Interview

After my first interview, it was explained to me that there would be 7 -8 interviews. One of them being a "discovery role play call" and the recruiter was to explain everything. The recruiter only had time to call me about 30 minutes before my "discovery call" in which I thought it would be interactive with the interviewees. That was not the case, they sat on the virtual call reading their emails while I asked "discovery questions" and then to find out the next day "didn't pass the discovery call" .. well I had decided I didn't want to continue with another 6 interviews after that discouraging, unprofessional "discovery" interview anyways. I found them to be a mess, which is a surprise since they are a growing company.
