I applied online and then was asked to do a phone screen with HR back in October of 2020. The HR rep went on a 30+ minute discussion about how their time at the company was life changing and how it’s a privilege to work there. She then asked me about what pen testing projects I’ve been involved with. I mentioned none professionally, but I have basic pen testing certs and understanding. That ask did not match the job description or title. I got the sense that they wanted a more senior security professional with pen testing experience, but have the “Security Analyst” title and pay scale. I was eager to end the call and immediately followed up with an email withdrawing my application and interest.
