I individually interviewed with the hiring manager, an HR rep, a few engineers, and the division directory. It was fairly standard stuff, including checks for coding proficiency, architectural questions, and leadership and behavioral questions. It wasn't the fastest interview process I've been through, but I have no complaints. Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and they provided timely feedback.

Question 1
Describe a time when you had to give negative feedback.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Coalition (Calgary, AB) in Apr 2023
Interview
Applied through glassdoor, took about a month to hear back but that was because the original position that I applied for had already been filled. Was contacted first by a member of the talent team where we had a 30 minute conversation and spoke about why I was interested in the role and any sort of timeline that I might have for interviews. Next was a 45 minute conversation with the hiring manager, the first 30 minutes focused on past experience and behaviour questions, with the last 10-15 minutes set aside for me to ask any questions I might have. They also explained to me in detail the company structure and the specific team and product line I would be working on. Following that was an hour long System Designs questions with one of the lead architects, I was asked to re-design an already existing system from scratch. After that they scheduled a Virtual Onsite, which consisted of: - Coding exercise and behavioural question panel interview - Values interview with a member of the product team - System Design #2 interview with a member of the Engineering team - Project walkthrough interview with two members of the engineering team, where we spoke about past experience on previous projects. They also went through my resume and asked any questions that arose. Everyone I spoke to in the interview process was extremely nice and very engaged and I could tell they really cared about making sure that they were hiring high quality candidates. I told the talent team upfront that I had other interviews ongoing and asked if it would be possible to expedite the interview process. The talent team at Coalition is pretty incredible, they were very accommodating to my schedule and available via email and phone throughout the whole interview process. The entire process from first contact to offer letter took 2 weeks. The interviews themselves were very thorough but not overly challenging. It was a really good balance of technical depth, showing your thought process and behavioural questions.
