Interview
The interview process at Coalition was thorough and well-structured. I first had a phone screening with HR, followed by a call with the hiring manager to discuss the role further. Subsequent rounds included interviews with teammates and leadership, focusing on both technical skills, leadership approach and cultural fit. Each interviewer was friendly and provided helpful context about the role and company. What stood out to me is the relationship building and partnership with recruiting. They made working through the process smooth and answered any questions about how to optimize preparation along the way.
I appreciated how transparent the team was about timelines and next steps, which helped reduce any uncertainty. Overall, the experience was positive and I'm looking forward to working with the team!

Question 1
What was a mistake or failure on a project and how did you learn from that experience?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Coalition (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Tough but fair process.
My recruiter did an excellent job prepping me on things like the cultural values, what the team is looking for, etc., which allowed me to focus my time on the types of questions I'd be asked - probably the best I'd experienced from a recruiter to be honest.
From there, had four 1h interviews with various leaders in Engineering and Product. These were spaced out across 3 different days which I was appreciative for (rather than trying to cram them into a single day). The questions mostly focused on managerial / leadership aspects, experience, with a few small technical questions. Some hypothetical questions as well to determine how I approach problems.
Again, the interviews were tough but fair. I came out feeling a sense of accomplishment.
