Interview Process was of three phases:
Phase 1. Screening through AMCAT online test.
Phase 2. Document Check and online test validation.
Phase 3. Technical Interview (~15 minutes) and HR Interview (~5-20 minutes).
Phase 1 : Online Screening through AMCAT.
Candidates were to apply on off-campus AMCAT test link. Shortlisted candidates received unique credentials and link to take the test. People applied multiple times with unique combination of emails and phone numbers to increase their chances.
Test comprised of four sections - Verbal, Logical, Quantitative and Automata (Coding).
Questions were of easy to moderate difficulty. There were two automata questions, one easy and another with moderate to high difficulty (luck based). People again took it multiple times to increases chances of selection for interview.
On successful completion of online test, candidates were called to Cognizant location based on their preference.
Phase 2 : Document Check and online test validation
In Cognizant location, AMCAT people were their to coordinate between the candidates and Cognizant team. AMCAT people were very rude, cranky and frustrated.
They were checking for documents which were mentioned in invite mail. Each academic was a must except passport.
They matched pictures taken during the test with the candidates arriving. At least 20 were held from appearing in interview because of lack of documents and 6-7 were sent back due to face mis-match.
Phase 3: Technical and HR Interviews
These were pretty simple interviews. Questions based on resume and work experience were asked. I was asked to write programs for swapping with and without third variable and algorithm for merge sort, OOPS concepts and also my proficiency on DBMS(I replied negatively).
Technical Interview results were announced within 20 minutes. We were then given a break for 20 minutes as there were 8 panels for Technical but just one for HR.
In HR interview, HR first asked for all the original documents, compared the photocopies submitted with originals and candidate detail sheet, marked them correct and moved on.
There were typical HR questions like TMAY, Why Cognizant?, etc.
Afterwards, HR asked to sign a declaration which basically meant that I can be employed in any shift/location/technology/domain at the discretion of Cognizant.
