Direct Sales- Door to Door Interview

      Nov 14, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      State College, PA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Comcast (State College, PA) in Nov 2012

      Interview

Wasnt terrible. Good experiece anyways. Applied and was sent a short test. Day later was contacted by a recruiter who did a short 10-15 minute phone interview. Set up a date and time for a face to face interview. Went for the interview and they didn't even know I was supposed to be there. Kinda frustrating right off the bat. Sat down with two guys who were pretty nice. They werent real professional and they one guy could just tell he did not wanna be there. Everything was really good until they made me do a role play type deal where I had to try and sell the interviewer comcast. It wasnt hard, but he made it very hard and was being almost impossible. Didnt make it the slightest bit easy on me so I could at least show I could do the job. They also made it very hard because I did not have a whole lot of knowledge on Comcast products/prices, etc. It gave a good indication of what the job would be like, but during this time I realized I was kind of misled by the recruiter and the job was not for me. I have a college degree and did not go there intending to walk door to door everyday trying to sell Comcast. My recommendation if they ask you to do a role play is to break the ice first. Thats what they wanted me to do. I tried to jump right in. Only because Im at an interview, and I really didnt think they wanted me to try and BS. So i cut right to the chase. Ended up leaving half way through the interview. Dont apply unless you want to walk door to door everyday and look like an idiot. The money that comes with the job would be nice but not worth it in my opinion.

      Sep 24, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Comcast in Sep 2010

      Interview

Stood 40 people deep at career fair waiting. The interviewer had no idea or desire to probe. Did not look at my resume. Offered entry level call center and insisted everyone starts at the bottom. Clearly, her tonality was you are nobody special. NEXT. Shame on Comcast sending her.
