First a phone call; easygoing and friendly. I have a five-year gap in my job history, so of course I knew I would have to explain that it was family responsibilities and the death of my mother. I kept my explanation short, then moved the conversation along. Next was a Zoom interview with a manager in another state. It was easy-going and she asked me why I wanted to switch specialties and I told her the truth...that my Mom had received hospice services and it sparked my interest in looking at providing care that is patient and family-focused. I would feel honored to be able to provide comfort and care to patients and their loved ones at such an important phase.
