I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cornerstone Research (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2019
Interview
Interviews with two people, 45 minutes each
Asked to explain my job market paper and then asked how I would estimate damage to consumers in a specific case study. You may ask questions about the case study if you are unfamiliar with the market.
Two 45 minute interviews, each had a 20 minute case component based on real cases. One of them required knowledge of econometrics, the other was easier with more basic statistics. The remaining time is split between discussing Cornerstone and the candidate’s research. Found them to be generally more intense than interviews at competing firms.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cornerstone Research (Miami, FL) in Dec 2019
Interview
The interviewers were very interested in how my interest in Cornerstone compared to academic jobs. I was honest and said that I am interested in both, which seemed okay.
