I was referred to this company by a former colleague and initially had a positive experience with HR. The screening process, including a questionnaire and initial interview, went well. HR was professional and pleasant, asking about my leadership experience, scope, and technical engineering background.
However, everything changed with the next interview. After being scheduled quickly, it was abruptly delayed for over a week with no clear explanation. When it finally happened, I found myself in a panel interview with five people that felt more like an interrogation than a professional discussion. The atmosphere was tense and cold, with rapid-fire questioning that was largely irrelevant to the actual job role or leadership level.
Most concerning was the fact that the interview was led by a product leader with no engineering background. His focus seemed to be less on evaluating my technical expertise and leadership capabilities and more on ensuring that engineering would be subservient to product. As the interview progressed, the questions became increasingly absurd—almost as if they were intentionally trying to make the experience as unpleasant as possible.
In my 20+ years of experience, this was by far the worst interview I’ve ever had. It was also the first time I have ever voluntarily rescinded my application. I would strongly advise any engineering leaders or engineers to avoid this company.
