I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Greenville, NC) in Aug 2014
Interview
Very brief -- experience related. Mostly entailed explaining the job duties and the restaurant flow, as well as their unique PAR training program (the stars on the apron). A few service related questions and availability questions. Most important question was are you prepared to work holidays and weekends, including spring break. I presume scheduling is one of their biggest issues so if you want to look good, the words "Open availability" and "reliable transportation" will be like music to their ears.

The interview process was really simple. The hiring manager called me and set up a interview. From there i was hired on the spot and had to just wait for some orientation emails to come in before the date of my orientation.
