      Account Strategist Interview

      Jun 9, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Criteo in Jun 2016

      Interview

      - I was referred by a friend who work at Criteo (BCN). - I got a phone interview with the HR, very basic interview about my motivations to join the company, my current positions and my knowledge about Criteo (business model, KPIs...) - I then had to take the 20 minutes online test. If you study well the main metrics (CTR/CVR/eCPM...), you should be able to pass it pretty easily. I suggest you to create an excel file with all the formulas and just change the numbers. All questions are already on Glassdoor. - I had a phone interview with 2 Account strategy team leader. One of them was really challenging as he bounced back on every fact I exposed ('why is that? how would you explained this? is this something you have experienced in your current job"), trying to test me on every opportunity he had, especially about my sales skills. I think this can lead to very interesting talk. Yet, even at the end of the interview, when I wanted to know more about the Criteo culture, the management, he answered me with questions. Which is a bit frustrating. The other interviewer was not really talkative so I can't judge. Finally, I was told that my sales skills wasn't strong enough and didn't made it to the final stage. The whole hiring process was quick and very professional. It really seems like a great company to work in and I'll definitely see for future opportunities at Criteo when I'll have improved my sales skills.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is the business model of Criteo ? How would you convince a client to renew and increase its budget ? What would be the consequences of a CPC increase for your clients (advertisers) ? Why do you want to leave your current company ? Why after this short amount of time ?

Todo se desarrollo normal hasta la entrevista final con un business case study. Me quedé sin noticia y sin feedback despues... Los recursos humanos tienen que tener respeto por el tiempo y trabajo que un candidato dedica para un proceso.

      Interview

Started with HR and the moves to Managers. Both teams were very competent and the process was smooth. It lasted around 3 weeks the questions were relevant and the timing was correct. Enough time to prepare and good feedbacks received after each interview round. I eventually accepted the offer.

      I interviewed at Criteo

      Interview

It was a 4 round process; screen call, 1st interview with the hiring manager, panel interview with their team, and lastly a mock presentation in front of the hiring manager and 2 other managers. Wasted a month of time going all the way through for a rejection. Quickly came to see after that many people in this position do not look like me; they are mainly white and even more so, white women. Think its pretty obvious why I didn't get the role. Unless you're applying to this company for anything outside client facing stuff, you probably won't be hired if you are a POC.
