I first had the online tests, quite easy to pass once you know the basic concepts (CTR, CPC,...). Moreover all the questions can be found on Glassdoor.
Then I was asked to come on site for a written test for a product manager job, which none of my contacts I had in Criteo had any info about.
I had one hour to answer 2 design questions about websites.
The first one was to design a formulary for a home insurance website, with pre-defined information to fill in.
The second one was to design a platform to buy and sell equities with different criteria (location, company, ...).
There were no other instructions, just a pen a sheet, nothing about how it had to be done, with drawings, which level of details,...
It was interesting.
The HR called me more than a week later to say that it was not enough for a product manager, but they would like to interview me for a BI job.
The interview went quite well, questions about my current job and technical questions about CPC, CTR, auctions,...
After more than 2 weeks without news, I called the HR who told me that my profile was interesting, the interview went well, bu they did not want to go on with me. When I asked why, he just said that "my answers were not business oriented enough", without explaining further. I then sent a mail to ask for more details about the reasons and they never answered.
I'd like to say that I'm very disappointed:
the whole process took more than 2 months (whereas I said that I needed the process to be quick since I was expecting an answer from another company), and in the end I had to call the HR (otherwise it seems like they would have never called me back), and he never explained clearly why they did not want to move on with my candidacy. The HR answer was not relevant to what I was asked during the interview.
Moreover I come from a school from which they hire a lot of people, the interview went well, I could answer all questions, I was well prepared.
It's very disappointing, especially coming from a company with such a reputation.
I don't encourage anyone to apply.
