I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Crunch Fitness (West Windsor, NJ) in Aug 2024
Interview
The guy who interviewed me when he first walked out of the office, was overly postured up, as if he was trying to look tough or intimidating. He proceeded to walk up to an inanimate object near the front desk object and start shadowboxing punching towards it. When I shake his hand to meet him I noticed he shook it unnecessarily hard and aggressive. During the interview in his office, he seemed like he was trying to intimidate me for some reason and also tell me that nobody makes it there most people end up leaving or simply not making the cut. He seemed to calm down when I let him know that I used to live in an MMA gym for a few years training to be an amateur fighter only then he seemed to be nicer and respect me. Long story short they called me back to give me a chance for employment, but I never responded because I don’t want to work for somebody like that.
Going over expectations as a trainer, doing lead generation with at least five leads, mock workout case study and taking manager through kickoff and memorizing elevator pitch and phone script. Going over work availability/hours

They were really nice and super chill both for the phone and in-person interview. When I showed up they gave me a tour of the gym and ironed out small details when I came in.

Apparently, it is an extremely competitive environment. The interview felt like an investigation. They are expecting someone to spend the whole day at the gym, even though I apply as a part-time trainer.
