      Implementation Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Crunchyroll (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2025

      Interview

This process was strung out for 2 months from initial recruiter contact to being informed that they were going with another candidate who "was a bit more aligned". I participated in 3 rounds- a few weeks between each round. The first was with a recruiter and was about a 30 minute call. He asked screening questions like "tell me about yourself" and "how would you rate your project management experience on a scale of 1-10". Because we ran out of time chatting, he asked me to email him a follow-up detailing my project management experience and detailing a situation that I had to rebound from. I sent a detailed overview. A few weeks later I met with the hiring manager for an hour. I was told the focus would be on my experience with tools and work history. To best prepare I created a presentation to highlight in detail all my experience. The interview went quicker than expected because I covered most of her questions in my presentation. I also prepared great questions to ask and the conversation was engaging. In a follow-up the recruiter said it was an impressive interview and I was informed I would move to a "final round" which would be a 3 hour panel interview with 7 people who would ask situational & behavioral questions to be concluded by another meeting with the recruiter. I studied for weeks, scoured podcast interviews to fully understand the culture, how this role would fit into the big picture, & prepared STAR method responses based on their 4 company values. I was prepared although not looking forward to the intense 3 hours of back to back questioning rounds on video calls. I performed exceptionally well, despite one weird round with two ladies from the product group who it seemed like weren't prepared themselves and asked oddly phrased situational questions. I remained composed asked for clarification and answered to the best of my ability taking a more hypothetical approach since the questions were half- baked. Finally, after all of those I met with the recruiter who told me that there would be another round with the hiring manager's manager. They were apparently suppose to interview me like they interviewed others. He mentioned that I would find out if I was making it to that round in about 2 weeks or so since they were having scheduling conflicts AND still had other candidates to speak with. Overall the recruiter was kind, however, the process was excessive and too drawn out to be paying under market value. I'm also unsure how the interviews are fair if people weren't even interviewing with the same people?

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Detail Your project management experience. How do you manage competing priorities? How do you communicate changes in priorities? Tell me about a time that you made a mistake. Tell me about a time when you had to advocate for something unpopular.
