The first round was non-technical and focused on a mutual introduction. The second round had an algorithm programming exercise. The third round had an object oriented programming exercise. The programming exercises were conducted over a website.
The fourth round was a discussion with the hiring manager’s manager. To my surprise, the fourth round felt more like a corporate intelligence-gathering exercise than a job interview. The interviewer asked about my employer’s specific technical practices, vendors, partners, and proprietary algorithms. I thought this was strange. The interviewer then spent significant time digging into a single behavioral question, trying very hard to unjustifiably frame me and make me look guilty. Lastly, the interviewer seemed dismissive of the effort involved in the project that I had been working on, giving the impression that it's as simple as reciting ABC. Given that I felt violated in these ways, I withdrew from the process. The interviewer seemed unaware of interview boundaries in the USA.
