I applied through a college campus program and since then I've had multiple interviews leading up to this review. The first one was on campus and was quite enjoyable. This was the only part of the interview process that I enjoyed. Next, you take an online aptitude quiz from home. The questions will have nothing to do with the job you're applying for and you'll be proctored through your computer camera. There is a minimum score you have to get that they don't tell you about, but I made it past this round.
Afterward, you'll get invited to interview at their headquarters. Before doing so, you fill out a lengthy application and read on the bottom that they promise they will get back to you within 4 days after your interview at their headquarters. This promise is false. Once you get to the headquarters, do not expect to leave for the next six hours. You will be treated with food, a tour of the building, as well as information about what makes Cvent popular. Then you will go through 4 rounds, each lasting 45 minutes, of technical/coding questions. After the final interview, you’ll be promised again to hear within the next few days and you leave.
It tooks 22 days. 22 days and 3 emails asking about my status later, I was told I didn’t get the job and I was asked to interview for a different position. I took the interview offer and a week later, I was interviewing again. I asked at the end when I would hear about the position and they said within the next couple of days. 13 days later, I received an email thanking me for my time and that my application will be placed on file. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a company.
The thing about applying for a company this large in size is that you are just a number. Their job is to maintain professionalism and convince you that you aren’t a number, but it doesn’t take long to see otherwise. Recruiters will keep flip flopping with you about your status when in reality, their organizational structure has it so that they are almost never able to get in contact with the actual hiring managers.
