I submitted my resume via an employee referral - and I received a phone call from the recruiter, the next day. a phone interview was scheduled for the following day. The recruiter kept saying that she wanted to assess whether I would be a good fit for the cvent culture, which to me, means talking about background, opinions, pet peeves, strengths, personal character, etc. Well - apparently there is a form, that the recruiter needs to fill out -- and at the end of a 2 hour phone conversation, i realized that she needed me to pretty much recite my resume over the phone to her to fill out the form. I didn't think I needed to do that since she had a copy of my resume directly in front of her. At the end she told me that I didn't give her concrete answers to her questions (which were in my resume) - which surprised me. Again, I thought we were still talking about my "culture fit". I was misled by her questions and I do think her style was dishonest.
I felt uneasy with this recruiter from the beginning of the phone call - and now I knew why. The fact that this company is hiring 500+ people is totally nuts, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a huge layoff a year later. My experience with this recruiter has forever ruined my impression of this company and I would probably never apply there again.
