Interview
The intern position was about data analysis and visualization with MATLAB. HR person contacted me and scheduled a telephonic technical interview. I went through the technical interview (with a few HR questions as well). Questions were fairly easy. Two or three days later, I was contacted for another technical interview. This was again an easy interview. Both interviews were telephonic and lasted about half an hour. They asked me about my research and course work, about my coding experience in MATLAB, and how I collaborate with my teammates in a coding project. I got an offer a week later.

Some questions which I can recall now are: What is you favorite MATLAB function and why? How do you do version control? Do you know about function handles? Have you build MATLAB gui?

Interview
A phone interview. It took about 30-40 minutes. The questions were based on my previous experiences, the problems I faced and how I tackled them. The interviewer asked me specific application of the software that I was going to use in the internship, going over my projects helped me a great deal. It was an interview where the interviewer was interested in knowing about me and if I would fit well in the company than testing my skills. Having a good recommendation and a lot of experience paid off.
