      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DISCO (Austin, TX) in Apr 2021

      Interview

4 part interview: * Phone Screen - Phone call with recruiter to learn more about the position and share about yourself * One on One Zoom - Zoom to learn more specifics about the team, position, and introduce yourself * Panel Interview - This was about 3.5 hours total, I had 4 different Zoom sessions that were 45 minutes each with different people from the team, each person had specific questions about different areas regarding the position * One on One Zoom - An additional one on one meeting, I ended up answering a lot of questions that were previously asking in both the panel and earlier one on one These interviews all took place within the span of approximately a week, but hearing back about the position took a considerable amount of time. I actually enjoyed everyone I spoke to and interviewed with. It seems like a great company to work for. The only problem was the follow up from recruitment. After the final interview, I was told that my references would be contacted, but they never were. I had to follow up after 1.5 weeks asking for a status update since I received no communication from anyone at DISCO. After emailing, I was told I would have an answer by the weekend, but didn't receive an email for another week to let me know I did not get the position.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Panel Interview was STAR-centered so they wanted specific situational examples. * Give me an example of a time you faced a conflict while working on a team. How did you handle that? * Sometimes it’s just not possible to get everything on your to-do list done. Tell me about a time your responsibilities got a little overwhelming. What did you do? * Give me an example of a time when you had to explain something fairly complex to a frustrated client. How did you handle this delicate situation? You could look up STAR Interview question examples to help prepare for these.

      Interview

Organized, 3 part interview process which moved incredibly quickly and efficiently. The hiring director was transparent and attentive with relaying information and keeping me informed on the next steps of what I experienced as a very thoughtful and intentional interview process. After each interview, the recruiting coordinator contacted me to schedule the next round within a few hours, which was pretty awesome. In addition, everyone I met on the team was engaged and genuinely interested in getting to know me and just as enthusiastic about answering my questions and sharing about their work. All around, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I was thrilled to accept when they extended an offer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Combination of standard situational/behavioral-based interview questions and a portfolio review which was really conversational and geared toward getting to know me and my development process.
