The timeframe can be quite lengthy owing to a detailed recruitment process. If anything, it's a testament to the organisation for wanting to find the absolute perfect fit for the hiring team.
I submitted my application in late November 2018 and towards the end of December I received an invitation to attend a Skype interview with the hiring manager and an HR representative. The interview was held during the first week of January 2019 and lasted about 1-1.5 hours. The questions were largely behavioural/competency based and structured around my CV.
Roughly 4 weeks later, I received an invitation to attend a face-to-face interview which was held during the first of February. Prior to the interview, I was required to complete an online assessment consisting of a numerical and verbal reasoning test, as well as a workplace-personality questionnaire. I was also required to prepare a 10-minute presentation on a challenging case-study.
The face-to-face interview is not entirely structured - it follows a 'revolving door' concept where various members of the team will enter the room at any point and engage with you. This is highly characteristic of a high-performing team and again reiterates the importance they place on finding the right fit, not just for the role but for the whole team. The interview was scheduled to last for 1.5 hours but went for about 2.5-3 hours. I also had the opportunity to discuss my test results thereafter.
I was repeatedly made aware of long and unforgiving workplace hours due to the nature of the work and strict deadlines (incl. working from home straight after work and occasionally on weekends). I'm not entirely sure if this was to put me off balance (it didn't), however I did ask how staff are rewarded for their commitment and how success was celebrated. The response I received was that staff enjoyed the diversity in work and loved their job - that is their reward. I really do believe there is more to this, and I would have liked to have explored this in more detail by asking what each individual team member enjoyed most about working for the company.
