I applied online. I interviewed at DNV (Aberdeen, Scotland) in Jan 2020
Interview
Process took quite a while. I would say roughly about 4-6 weeks. I read a lot of the negative reviews on Glassdoor before my interview and I didn't believe a lot of them till I had my experience. First I was invited for a Skype interview which was hard, interviewed by a panel of people (4 people in total) and was asked typical competency questions to begin with.
After the competency questions I was then asked a serious of technical questions. Make sure you prepare for this part (luckily I had revised some of the content I learned on my degree). Know the basics of naval architecture RAOs, Morrisons equation and the parameters, Risk assessments (this is huge for DNV).
After this I was then invited for a face to face at the Aberdeen office. The experience was horrible, I was interviewed by 5 people and I was constantly grilled for 1hour 40min and they kept asking me things which assumed I worked as a naval architect for years already which was just odd. Expecting far too much from a fresh graduate.
