The entire process is about 2-3 weeks. 1st interview is with the recruiter, 2nd, with a team lead, 3rd with the director and 4th is an in person interview with a panel of 3 where you are asked to give a presentation about a topic of your choice.
Up until the in person interview, everyone seemed enthusiastic and excited to learn more about me and my background as well as market the company/role with more context. I thought the conversations went well - the director even pushed me to the final round for an in person live on our call.
All downhill from here... The body language, tone seemed really off about the people who were present during the final round (all were previous members who I interviewed with so far). Not sure what it was, but everyone I met with seemed like they had no interest in interviewing me and wanted to just get it over with (a complete 360 from the enthusiasm and excitement I experienced in previous rounds). 2/3 of them left the interview early with 1 just abruptly getting up in the middle of me speaking to "hop on a client call". Randomly gets up, asks me to answer a question regarding my presentation as she's heading for the door...Awkward and super un-professional and quite frankly...just broke my confidence, given how much I prepared for the interview and in my presentation.
By no means do I think I'm entitled to a job. But I think if your candidates are making the effort to drive almost 2.5 hours for an in person interview, having to do a presentation, perhaps show a little bit of enthusiasm and/or make the interview process virtual especially if team members are just going to leave prematurely (also forgot to mention that there was a scheduled tour, which never happened). Totally cat-fished with the personality of the team members who turned out to be extremely rude, condescending, and takes no interest in candidates - realized they do this to meet some sort of quota when in reality they've already decided who they're going to hire even before your interview journey begins.
Overall, I would say this was a confusing experience. Initially, everyone seemed genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning about my background and experience, said how I would be a great fit with the role and they'd love for me to come in for an in person interview.
I get to the in person interview, and I realized I've been completely catfished. They turned out to be completely different than what I had expected from my previous interviews.
Absolutely destroyed my interview confidence, but glad I dodged a bullet.
