      Project Manager Interview

      Jun 13, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Paris
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Dashlane (Paris) in Jul 2018

      Interview

1hour phone call with the manager of the future hired candidate. The call was quite classical with a presentation of the company, the team and a personal presentation and a second part with my presentation and some exchanges about the way I see the role and my expectations. Quite a pleasant call expect the fact that I haven’t received any news from them after that even if they told me they would give me an answer the week after and even after I ask for some news by email. A short email with a simple no even without any explanation would have been the minimum of respect to show to any candidate after an interview. Apparently some candidate receive detailed feedbacks for a no, I wonder why I haven’t received a single email...

Questions about my experience, especially the way I act today as a product manager, how I choose the features to be developed and how I follow the result of the product evolution with KPI.

      Interview

The interview process was very thorough and involved several conversations with different members of the team. I appreciated the time invested by the people I met, and the discussions were generally thoughtful, professional, and engaging. I also gained a positive impression of the product culture and the level of expertise within the company. However, the overall process lasted almost three months, which felt exceptionally long. What was initially presented as a structured process also expanded along the way, with a second case study being added unexpectedly. In addition, feedback or next steps often took around two weeks after each interview stage. This made the process feel drawn out and created considerable uncertainty about where I stood and when a final decision could realistically be expected. More transparency around the number of stages, possible changes to the process, timelines, and delays would have made the experience significantly better, especially for candidates managing other opportunities in parallel. Ultimately, I was informed that another candidate had been selected. The message was respectful, and detailed feedback was offered, which I appreciated. I would recommend that the company make future processes shorter, more predictable, and more transparent throughout.

I applied online. I interviewed at Dashlane (Lisbon, Lisbon District) in Oct 2021

      Interview

Best experience I had in a recruitment process. A bit too long, but every step was well conducted and provided a lot of information about the company culture, vision and processes. First screen with RH, followed by hiring manager interview, 2 peers interviews, 2 VP interviews. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

      Interview

Not a great experience. The hiring manager was just awful from the start and it was clear English wasn't their native language. They didn't understand some of the most basic product management concepts and I felt like I was talking to a wall the whole time. Definitely would not recommend.
