Recruiter contacted me and specifically lauded me for my commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In the exploratory introductory call, I asked about the company's DEI strategies and how this manifests in the team. There are two male sales leaders. The recruiter couldn't (or wouldn't?) answer basic makeup of the sales team. She also ultimately told me that these two male sales leaders are looking for a sales leader who already comes with two years of formal leadership experience. She is the one who reached out to me, not the other way around. It was clear from my profile and from her acknowledgement that she knew I was doing hybrid leadership / individual contributor responsibilities and didn't have the two years she was looking for. Even better? The official job description on Datadog's website doesn't list this as a requirement. In short -this company may state that it is committed to DEI, but it's practices haven't evolved past the standard suppressive hiring practices that discourage DEI in the first place. Super disappointing.
In short: if you are of any kind of diversity, steer clear.
