I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Dave & Buster's (Oklahoma City, OK) in Jan 2012
Interview
First interview took about 30 minutes. Managers from foh and boh, take turns interviewing you for 7 minutes. Questions cover basic serveing scenarios, and personality questions like what would you consider a flaw of your personality. I believe they put alot of weight on the initial online personality profile. The second interview really just consisted of offering the job. From what I understand you are informed immediately after the first interview if your hired or get a second interview. I wasn't called back for over a week and was offered a server job instead of bartender. It's a new store opening and they wanted to offer me a chance to go through training in anticipation of bar staff turnover. Very thorough interview and you can tell they know what they are looking for.
Very simple, straight forward, would recommend it highly! The managers there are picky but they only want what's best for everybody. This is very very very true at least from what I've experienced.
A lot of small interviews, because it was a new store. Then they called and said I got the position. They asked to explain the basic drinks most bartenders should know and the order you would make the drinks.

Question 1
What order would you make these drinks (Beer, Shot, mixed drink)
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dave & Buster's (Concord, CA) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview process was easy I asked were they hiring, they gave me a time to come in for an interview before I applied online but was told to apply online in the meantime. I applied online, then I called to let them know I applied. I was interviewed by the bar manager and manager. persons. They will train you to make their specialty drinks. Training is paid for hourly pay and you will not get tips until you reach your fifth day of training which is the end of your training. Pay was really good tip wise. I made a lot of types because I provided great customer service and you do have to share tips with other bartenders and the bar-back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions asked weren't STAR type of questions, or how to make certain drinks. The questions were mostly about my promptness, cleanliness, and customer service experience.
