I initially applied on SnagaJob and they sent me an email to let me know that a manager would be in touch.
When I got the call, it was from an enthusiastic manager who was very lenient with an interview time (because I was working part time at another place, at the time.) When we settled for an interview, he seemed genuinely interested in meeting me.
I interviewed at the back of the front house bar, and with the same excitable manager who called to give me the good news. He was very polite, downright friendly, and after getting me a complimentary beverage, jumped right into the interview questions.
He was very professional, but he kept the process relaxed and easy enough that I didn't really feel nervous like I have with other companies.
I mentioned my love for comics, and I'm almost positive what was what won me over for him. He-- superman style-- interrupted the interview to pull his shirt open to show me the comic superhero shirt he was wearing UNDERNEATH his button up! It was awesome!
He also allowed ME to set a limit for myself in terms of wage. The job I was working at (before applying to D&B) was paying me $12.25 an hour, and I believe I had mentioned that. He agreed to the amount that I offered myself at (and had no idea he would take, honestly.) $10/hr, and told me he liked me very much and was planning on giving me the job.
I had to wait then for the GM to come out, and after introducing myself to him and one other manager, I got the job!
