      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Oldsmar, FL) in Dec 2016

      Interview

So far I have gotten as far as the video interview. Here are some tips I have found through research and people I know in the industry: - dress conservative and with natural makeup -SMILE - use the StAR (Situation, Task, ACtivity, Result) format when answering the questions. This is what they look for. Meaning Situation= set the context of your story. Task= what was required from you. Activity= what you actually did. Result= How well did the situation play out? - Speak in specifics, not in general terms. - don't say "um" and the like - look into the camera as much as possible, not at yourself. - BE AWARE OF WHAT IS IN THE FRAME. They play attention to this. check for posters etc. think minimalism and professional. - They seem to like if you dress the part. Meaning, dress like a flight attendant for this. -Be yourself/calm. Being personable matters - You only have a few moments in between questions and 30 second after you receive the question to compose yourself I advise you write down all these questions you find and answer them in a notebook so if your nerves get to you you have the book to quickly flip through. Even if you dont use it its a comforting factor to have by your side. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS AND DO THEM A LOT!! They seriously help take the edge off and get you into the groove. I put i didn't get an offer because I'm still waiting to find out if I got it or not. It was also an at home online video interview by hireview so that's why i put down florida as where it was located.

      Question 1

They only ask a few but here is a list of every one I've found online just in case yours are different . You see a coworker taking items from the plane inventory. What did you do? Do you tend to the customers arguing first or get your item to not delay service? Why? Please describe a situation when you demonstrated initiative and took action without waiting for direction. What was the situation? What actions did you take and what were the results? you overheard coworkers gossiping in ear shot of passengers. what would you do? Tell us about a time when you had to work with someone with a difficult personality. What made this person difficult and how did ou handle it? What were the results? Tell us about a time when you worked on a team with someone who did not do his or her share of the work. What was the situation? What actions did you take and what were the results? Tell us about a time when you witnessed a coworker or colleague breaking the rules or actin in a dishonest or unprofessional manner. What was the situation? What actions did you take and what were the results? What would you do if a passenger appears intoxicated? What to do if a child was asleep on the floor while the fasten seatbelt sign is on? How would you handle a situation with a difficult customer? How did you handle it? What was the outcome? What do you do when a coworker works at a slow pace? What are some of your strengths/ faults? Describe a conflict you had with a manager., how did you handle it? How was it resolved? What was a difficult task and how did you overcome it? What was the result? Create a PA for a couple celebrating their 50th year anniversary? What do you know about the company? HOw would you deal with a stressful situation if you knew customers were watching you? time when you coached someone into becoming better? Why are you passionate about working with us? Name a time a manager expected you to be unethical? name a time you went above and beyond for a customer? Describe a situation in which you made a decision and took responsibility. What was the situation? How did you respond? What was the outcome? Tell about a time you were in a high stress/pressure situation and how you dealt with it WOrked with a dishonest coworker. How did you handle the situation? Did you approach them? What was the outcome? These aren't word from word but you get the gist. It's also certainly not a complete list. I am currently in the interview process for the FA position and have reached the ODV part of it. Most of the questions are expierenced based, so I would recommend just thinking of the times you have exceeded the customer service baseline before hand.
