I applied online. I interviewed at DigitalOcean (New York, NY) in Apr 2021
Interview
Very detailed, includes an interview with the Recruiter, then a hiring manager. Then you take a real-world assessment, followed by at least three more interviews. One interview with someone to go over the assessment, then another to go into more detail about your experience. The last interview is supposed to be about your values, if they match the company's.

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at DigitalOcean in Aug 2022
Interview
There was the usual recruiter screen, followed by a 45 minute hiring manager screen. There was an editing assignment. Then the panel round, which was 2 interviews with team members. And finally an overall fit interview with a VP.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DigitalOcean (New York, NY) in Aug 2022
Interview
The editorial process was great. Everyone was very friendly and put me at ease during the process. I interviewed with more people than I expected, but every interaction was important for everyone to get a good sense of whether it was going to be a good fit for either of us. The length of time from the initial interview to acceptance, about a month, felt appropriate.
