DigitalOcean Senior Software Developer interview questions

Even though I did not get an offer, this was hands down one of the best interview processes I have experienced.  The recruiter was extremely responsive and the turnaround time to proceed to the next step was usually communicated within 1 to 2 days.  One of the best parts about the process as a whole was that each interview along the way felt more like an actual conversation rather than a typical question/answer interview.    The hiring manager interview focused on my experiences, skills and cultural fit ("tell me about a time...").  The remaining interviews would take general CS or Systems Design concepts and then have them applied to specific scenarios presented by the interviewer.  Each interviewer made it clear that there were no right or wrong answers.  The concepts and scenarios served as a launchpad for conversations that explored both the depth of my knowledge as well as my  process for approaching problems.    The interviewers also made sure that there was ample time for me to ask questions (in some cases the interview ran over the allotted time).  They clearly wanted to make sure that the opportunity and culture at DigitalOcean was a fit from my perspective as well as theirs. No whiteboards.  No HackerRank.  No CoderPad.  Senior Engineers were treated like Senior Engineers.

Very friendly, all the talks and people I met during the process. Although there were 5 to 6 interviews, the whole process, from the first contact to the end, was quicker than other companies I had participated before.
