DigitalOcean Software Engineer interview questions

As others have mentioned, the interview process is relaxed and conversational. It involved: - Meeting the recruiter - Meeting the hiring manager - Meeting the team lead - Meeting four engineers, mostly from the team My conversations with the recruiter and hiring manager were pretty typical. The hiring manager asked about my design process but was mostly interested in my experience and background. The team lead quizzed me on a broad range of software concepts like containers, networking fundamentals, and Kubernetes. Each teammate had a different focus: diagnostics and debugging, remote work and collaboration, system design, and distributed systems. The interviews lasted about an hour, including the questions I asked. If you're studying for the interview, I recommend reviewing the GitHub system design primer and system design questions from Cracking the Coding Interview if you have the book. Drilling algorithms and Leetcode will not be super useful. I was asked to share my screen and debug a broken Go service, so have an editor and a terminal shell open. All in all, I loved the process and everyone was friendly. It was a refreshing break from your traditional Leetcode interview.
