I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Orlando, FL) in Jul 2017
Interview
Applied online, which was an extremely simple process and one of the easiest retail applications I have ever filled out. No psychoanalysis, no weird personality testing -- heck, they didn't even ask for my education. Three weeks later, I was called in for an interview.
Interview was... well, it wasn't even an interview. The manager sat me down at an allotted time and that was that. He immediately told me that I was hired no matter what, and even told me that he "didn't see any point in asking questions". Nothing was asked of me; he told me a bit about the job, but even then he was scarce on details because I was already experienced with retail.
I was given the job on the spot, (literally) no questions asked.
it was little to no process, I just applied and got a phone call to come in for an interview the next day. I was just asked basic questions and got the job, nothing difficult at all.

Interview
The typical interview process is very informal by the end of the interview. Almost desperate for recruits, which at the time seemed very concerning. Though now that I've been working here for more than 9 months I can see that people are often interchanged here a lot. The most time employees spend at this career is up to two years.

The interview was great they were very down to earth and easy to talk to with direct questions. Knew I was hired by the next day. Excited to start and get to know the ropes a little more.
