      Sales Training Specialist Interview

      Jun 22, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (San Francisco, CA) in May 2021

      Interview

The recruiter and scheduler were fantastic throughout the process. I was invited to apply to the position by the manager who found me on LinkedIn, and I accepted (Maybe a red flag- it could be perceived as if she doesn’t trust the recruiters?) The first call was with a recruiter, then the aforementioned manager, and a couple of teammates. I then made it to the next round, a take home assignment that if they liked, I would have the chance to present to the rest of the L&D sales team. The recruiter contacted me to let me know I made it to the last round and I presented the workshop (on building Rapport, which I titled “Dash doors, drive dialogue” in case they want to use that idea, it’s a no by the way) and met with a couple of directors after that. A long and too mechanical process, there is nothing that speaks to the uniqueness of the brand during interviews. A week later the recruiter informed me I did not get the position, with ZERO feedback, and ZERO compensation for my time and effort. I must say if the L&D department had no feedback to provide, I am concerned. I used the experience to land a great job a week later with something that best fits me. If you’re looking for a diverse team, my experience was that they don’t have one (for what I saw) also, their values are outdated (think Travis Kalanick mentality “be 1% better every day=you’ll never feel like you’re good enough, we are all 1 team= you’ll do as much as we need you to do” “bias for action= Ask for forgiveness instead of permission ) and they have a sad DEI statement paragraph called “our commitment to diversity and inclusion” that reads more like an afterthought, instead of embedding DEI language into their company values and making DEI the driving force in the interview process. Posers.
