I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (New York, NY) in Jul 2025
Interview
Received a cold outreach from a recruiter, did not have a recruiter screen over the phone. Answered 15 questions about my role, what I am looking for, and why I am interested in DoorDash. Took a bit to respond but finally received a response for the interview round which was a case and coding interview back to back. Case was first and was focused on delivery quality and bad reviews. Coding interview was a basic coding interview, but was definitely rushed. Interviewer wasn't allowing me to check my work, and you couldn't even run the code to confirm your work. It's been 3 weeks and I got a form rejection letter instead of an email from a recruiter

Question 1
What metrics would you use to measure the success of a new product launch? How would you calculate churn rate, and what key metrics would you monitor? If tasked with improving user engagement, which metrics would you focus on and why?
The recruiter reached out through LinkedIn. First round was an interview with the hiring manager, then a technical interview including 4 sql questions and one case study in one hour. After passing this step, I moved to the onsite which included 3 case study and a meeting with XFN.

Question 1
What does this sql code do? and if we want to change it to monthly what should we do
I applied online. I interviewed at DoorDash (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2026
Interview
They don't have call with the recruiter but I felt like they are training their employees on how to interview. I completed all the SQL questions as had a good case study but received rejection just 2 hrs after the interview. Don't waste your time to interview for this company. They expect the candidate to have end to end knowledge of Doordash and act like Doordash data scientient in the interview which is unfair.

SQL - window functions , lag , lead etc
Case study - introducing scooters in new city
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at DoorDash (New York, NY) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was first a recruiter screen, then two screening interviews with SQL and a case study, then 2 case studies, one hiring manager interview, and 1 cross-functional partner interview. These interviews are similar to what I would expect for data scientist interviews, but they aren't layups. I expected to be ready after acing the screens + (in my opinion) one of the case studies. But then in one of them they were looking for me to use some concepts I wasn't familiar with, so I bombed it and spent most of the time jumping around to adjacent topics that were similar but evidently not as good. They're pretty quick with the interview process, and I felt they were professional. I just wish it had gone better

How would you measure the impact of launching the ability for Dashers to use bicycles to deliver, instead of just cars?
