5 interviews and then put on hold for 3 weeks, with the recruiter checking in periodically in a way that pointed to all assumptions that I’d receive an offer. Then, I was told they’d chosen another candidate - and I was clearly #2 and kept on the back burner until candidate #1 passed background checks or what-not. It was the worst recruiting experience I’ve ever had. A few weeks later, they reached out to me for a contract, non-permanent position in a similar role. I was very embarrassed for them and felt insulted.
