Epic will first conduct a behavioral phone interview, which is fine and easy. They will however, then forward you to a technical assessment, which might give even an experienced developer a run for their money. In my assessment, I was given three sections: a 2 minute speed test where you must answer 10 questions, questions on a made-up programming language, and finally programming problems. The actual code does not need to compile and pseudocode is ok in parts. Two of the programming questions were quite easy, and the last two were mind-bending recursion problems.
