They approached me on LinkedIn. Then they asked me for an Excel online test which was kind of rude for my level of experience. Then I had the interview with the hiring manager who is based in Toronto. Very rude and wanted to show me I don't know anything. Interviewer was R.A, not disclosing the full name I had grad degree in climate change with various publication in the field in the best journals of the world and has been working in the industry besides academic. He asked me in a rude way, why your masters is 3 years?? Isn't it 1 years. So first of all this guy doesn't even know that master of science is 2 years that has thesis. It's MEng, master of engineering which is one year and has no thesis. Thesis is usually very demanding and you learn a lot and improve your skill set. So he didn't know what really master program is. Second of all, my master was 2 years and 4 months, not 3 years if he had a closer look at my resume dates. Anyhow he asked some more questions and kind of told me I don't know much. I had worked in different roles with solid background on my academia. I didn't get the job but got a much better job in a month with a way higher salary. And I've checked the people he hired later, no one even closer to my background, I'm shocked how come ERM hired him. I advise him to go and learn more about university programs.
