The application process starts with the typical application form, even though this year they removed the "past work experience" section, which I think is a great improvement considering how many people lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
Then you have the online assessments, which this year have been in two separate ones (Situational Judgement Test and Numerical Test) rather than merged. They were very accessible, decent questions. It took longer to hear back after the numerical (about 3 weeks) than after the SJT, I even emailed them about my application because with the number of applications they receive I was scared mine may have been lost.
The next stage is the Job Simulation. SJT questions, numerical, essay, text based. Very engaging and with a mixture of ranking answers, multiple choice, input your answer, write emails and video answers. Various case studies, with all the necessary materials and with very interesting information. There is also an interview element with the typical "Why EY? Why Audit?" and they will also tell you that you would have to travel a lot and how do you feel about that.
After this, the next step is the Experience Day, which this year has been virtual. Due to the remote situation, it was shorter than last year, however it was just as exciting. A combination of numerical, group discussion, and one on one discussion, however no interview just yet.
The final stage is an interview with a Partner, which of course was also virtual. The Partner I had was really nice, she was very easy to talk to and made me feel heard. The discussion became casual pretty quickly and was very insightful and left me with a very good impression. You have to prepare a discussion on a given topic beforehand. Then, during the presentation, the interviewer will ask some follow up questions. The rest of the questions are again "Why EY? Why Audit? Why Cambridge?" A couple of strength based questions, and then some general discussion based on your answers. Nothing to worry about, the final step is just for you to see if EY is the right place for you and for them to see if you would integrate properly. Be yourself and if you don't pass, don't put yourself down, it just means it wasn't the right place for you! Try somewhere else or try again after you reconsider your goals!
I received the outcome of my final interview the same day, a couple of hours later. I guess it depends on your performance, but they do aim to let you know as soon as possible. In the end, as I said, the last stage is just a matter of whether we like each other or not, so the outcome should be pretty fast.
